LBCC Fitness classes starting the week of September 28

LBCC Albany Community Education has a variety fitness classes for all levels of fitness starting the week of September 28.

BETTER BONES AND BALANCE: Reap the benefits OSU Bone Research studies. This exercise program slows the rate of bone loss in adults of all ages. Improve your balance, flexibility and coordination, and see an increase in muscle tone and overall body fitness. Classes begin the week of September 28 at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. at numerous locations throughout Albany.

FLOW YOGA: Based on flowing, dynamic sequence of movements, which are synchronized with the breath and also includes static postures, balances and stretches. Increase strength, flexibility and endurance while improving circulation, balance and alignment/posture. Relax your mind body and soul. Please bring yoga mat and one firm blanket. All levels welcome basic yoga experience recommended. Meets Wednesdays from 5:30-6:20 p.m. starting September 30 at LBCC Albany Campus. Cost is $39.

GENTLE YOGA: Geared for the beginning student. A slow paced class emphasizing the coordination of breathing with easy stretching. Please bring yoga mat and blanket. Class meets Mondays from 1-1:50 p.m., 2-2:50 p.m. or 3-3:50 p.m. starting September 28 at the Albany Senior Center. Cost is $69.

PILATES COMBO: This series of low-impact exercises concentrates on building strong abdominal muscles, which improves balance and coordination. Pilates combo format involves toning with light weights, balancing, and mat workout using a combination of yoga and Pilates moves. Class meets Tuesdays from 6:15-7:05 a.m. starting October 29 at the Albany Senior Center. Cost is $75.

GENTLE EXERCISE FOR BEGINNERS: This gentle, joint-safe exercise class is developed specifically for people with arthritis or musculoskeletal conditions, fibromyalgia, COPD, and anyone who is sedentary with limited or impaired joint-mobility. This program will help relieve stiffness, strengthen muscles, improve balance and decrease arthritis pain. Low-impact exercises can be done while sitting, standing, or on the floor. Led by Arthritis Foundation Certified instructor. Class meets Mondays from 12:00-12:50 p.m. starting September 28 at LBCC Albany Campus. Cost is $89.

EARLY MORNING FITNESS: A great class for early risers! Includes warm-up activities, stretching, flexibility, walking, and strength training with light hand weights. Anyone with physical limitations given special attention. Class meets Mondays from 8:00-8:50 a.m. starting September 28 at the Albany Senior Center. Cost is $89.

CARDIO DANCE WORKOUT: A refreshing alternative to traditional aerobics. Get both cardiovascular and muscular gains with beautiful dance routines. Develop strength, increase energy, burn calories, tone arms, abdominals, hips and legs. Class begins Mondays from 5:15-6:05 p.m. starting September 28 at Swanson Center. Cost is $79.

CARDIO CORE CONDITIONING: This exercise program is designed to condition the cardiovascular system, tone and strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. Class meets Tuesdays from 9:00-9:50 a.m. starting September 29 at the Albany Boys & Girls Club. Cost is $69.
