OCCSA Students Hold Town-Hall At State Capitol

Student representatives from the Oregon Community College Student Association will hold a Town Hall-style meeting for Oregon State legislators on Monday, Feb. 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Oregon State Capitol building, Hearing Room C, 900 Court St. NE, Salem.

A panel of Oregon legislators will discuss topics relating to community college funding and tuition increases in Oregon, including the Oregon Opportunity Grant and the community college support fund.

Representatives from the Education Committee, Ways and Means Committee and the Ways and Means Sub-committee on Education will be there.

Participating representatives include Mark Johnson, House District 52; Michael Dembrow, House District 45; Peter Buckley, House District 5; Richard Devlin, State District 19; Betty Komp, House District 22; and Sherrie Sprenger, House District 17.

A free bus will leave Takena Hall at 4 p.m. and return at 7:30 p.m. Car pooling is also available upon request. Contact Ricky in Student Life and Leadership at 541-917-4457.
