LBCC NSH Galleries: LBCC Art Student Juried Show
The LBCC Art Student Juried Show will on display through June 5 in the North Santiam Hall Galleries of Linn-Benton Community College, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW, Albany, OR.
An awards presentation and reception will be held Wednesday, May 6 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the second floor of the NSH Gallery, with more than $2,000 worth of prices and certificates to be awarded.
This year’s student show is one of the largest; with 96 artworks by LBCC art students on the two floors of the NSH Gallery.
Shelley Curtis, curator and manager for Art About Agriculture, chose many of the awards, including Best of Show.
Additional donors and local businesses provided cash awards and gift certificates, including Carol Schaafsma, Gary Westford, Hester Coucke, Blick Art Materials, Corvallis Fall Festival, Creative Framing, and the Photo Arts Guild.
The exhibit is open to students who have taken art classes at the college during the past year. The media on exhibit include paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylic; drawings in graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, photography, ceramic sculptures, digital art and mixed media.
LBCC’s North Santiam Galleries are open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
