Polysomnographic Tech Free Information Sessions

Free information sessions for those interested in becoming a Polysomnographic Technologist, or sleep technician, will be held at Linn-Benton Community College.

January sessions will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15, 9-11 a.m., and Thursday, Jan. 30, 1-3 p.m.

Additional sessions will be held Thursday, Feb. 13, 10 a.m.-noon, and Monday, Feb. 24, 11-1 p.m. All information sessions will be at the Albany campus in the Calapooia Center building, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany, OR. 97321.

Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory before applying for the program.

Polysomnographic Technologists assist physicians with patients who have sleep disorders such as sleep apnea. The program combines online and in-class instruction with a clinical practicum where students learn how to administer, score and interpret a variety of sleep disorders and their treatments.

The program starts June 23 and runs through March 20, 2015. Cost for the program is $8,500 and is eligible for Federal financial aid. Check the LBCC web site for program prerequisites at www.linnbenton.edu/go/forms.
