LBCC Professional Development Class HR 101

The professional development class “HR 101” will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at Linn-Benton Community College, Calapooia Center, room CC-211, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

Designed for supervisors, this workshop will provide training on how to prevent liability in the workplace, including information on employment discrimination laws, preventing a hostile work environment, creating a paper trail for poor performance, and avoiding inappropriate and discriminatory interview questions.

Cost for the course is $79 per person, or $69 each for three or more from one company. For more information or to register, contact LBCC Business and Employer Services at 541-917-4923.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. The course is required for CCB licensing as part of the education requirement before taking the State of Oregon CCB exam. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. For sample interview questions and tips, check out the college web site at www.linnbenton.edu/go/career-fair and click “Job Seeker Links.” Employment, training and family needs agencies will be on hand to inform job seekers about their services. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
