Benton Center Acoustic Showcase Features “Acorn Bros.”
The LBCC Benton Center Acoustic Showcase will feature the band “Acorn Bros.” on Friday, Feb. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Benton Center student lounge, 757 NW Polk Ave., Corvallis.
The Acorn Bros. acoustic duo features traditional and original American roots music by Ralph Penunuri and Ron Snyder. The duo plays a wide free range of straight-ahead fiddle tunes to original story songs, folk rock ballads to traditional old country music in the Louvin/Delmore/Monroe style, and spirited acoustic swing and bluegrass/newgrass jams.
Various combinations of stringed instruments include guitar, mandolin, banjo, octave mandolin and mountain dulcimer. Dynamic, eclectic, steeped in traditions and jamming it out, Acorn Bros. play vintage and new evolving music, playfully-artfully sharing foot-tapping virtuosity and enthusiasm — and spreading musical heritage, adventure and fun.
The Benton Center Acoustic Showcase is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the LBCC Benton Center at 541-757-8944.
