LBCC Switches E-mail to Google Apps for Education
LBCC announced that the college is upgrading its student e-mail system to Google Apps for Education.
The new system, powered by Google, is free to the college and students. The system will provide features including vastly expanded data storage and access to popular communication tools in Google Apps for Education.
Students will continue to use their existing @ml.linnbenton.edu e-mail addresses through winter term. During winter term students will be directed to a tool to help them migrate their old e-mail to their new account.
Students can login using any of the current e-mail links on the college website, including the Quick Links drop-down menu at the top of the homepage and e-mail link on Roadrunner Central at www.linnbenton.edu/go/roadrunner-central.
LBCC e-mail powered by Google has all of the features and tools of g-mail in an ad-free environment. All credit and non-credit students who have taken classes at LBCC in the 2010 calendar year as well as future students will be provided an e-mail account.
G-mail powered by Google offers users more than 7GB of free storage. Students will be able to send and receive 20mb attachments with world-class spam and virus protection.
