New writing classes at Benton Center

LBCC is offering three new writing classes at the LBCC Benton Center that start September 26.

“The Writer’s Ready Room” will help you improve your skills via Lill Ahren’s fun and supportive conversational method of feedback. By asking and answering questions about your writing projects, learn: what's working, what needs clarification, and the tricks and techniques of famous writers. Many works critiqued in this class are now published award-winners. Nine-week class meets Tuesdays, 6-9:20 p.m. starting Sept. 26. Cost is $120.

“First Person: Biographical Storytelling” helps you shape your life experiences into stories to share. Fashioned in the style of “The Moth Radio Hour,” this class will not only improve your biographical storytelling abilities and confidence, but you'll also get to know more members of the community and hear the captivating stories that make them tick. This five-week class meets Tuesdays, 6-7:50 p.m. starting Sept. 26. Cost is $79.

“Collage Night: Create, Discover, and Recharge” helps you dig deeper into your writing process or just have fun with open form collage. Support provided by instructor. Supplies provided. This eight-week class meets Wednesdays, 6:30-8:20 p.m. starting Sept. 27. Cost is $69.
