LBCC Veterinary Assistant Information Sessions

Two free Veterinary Assistant Program information sessions will be held at Linn-Benton Community College for those interested in training to become a Veterinary Assistant.

These pre-application sessions will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from noon to 2 p.m., and Thursday, Nov. 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Calapooia Center, room CC-212.

No preregistration needed to attend. Attendance at the information session is mandatory in order to take the program.

The 17-week LBCC Veterinary Assistant Program starts Jan. 6 and runs through May 2, 2014. Skill areas covered include basic education and experience in common disease states, commonly used medical and surgical techniques, and an introduction to hospital management, business procedures and radiation safety.
 
Cost for the program is $4,500. The program is eligible for financial aid. Check the LBCC web site for program prerequisites at www.linnbenton.edu/go/forms.

Learn a foreign language in classes offered through Community Education at Linn-Benton Community College starting April 4. Spanish for Seniors focuses on conversational Spanish with essential words, songs and phrases to help you get ready to travel more confidently in Spanish speaking countries. Learn past, present, and future verb tenses. Some previous Spanish experience recommended.
