Suz Doyle and Friends will perform at the LBCC Benton Center Acoustic Showcase from Noon to 1 p.m. Friday, January 19, 757 NW Polk Ave., Corvallis.

Suzannah Doyle is a professional composer, performer, on-the-spot songwriter, and chief comedy wrangler for Ringtone Theatre, whose work appears in hundreds of productions worldwide.

Doyle played by invitation at the White House in Washington, D.C., and has appeared live and on over 23 albums in numerous genres. She leads the monthly ukulele cabaret singalongs in Corvallis and was a founding member of the Corvallis-based ukulele trio, The Wallop Sisters.

Suz Doyle and Friends features Doyle and Jeanne Holmes on vocals and ukulele, Karen Johns on vocals and guitar and Niels Nielsen on a gonzo-engineered upright bass.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
