SSH Gallery Exhibit: “The Thing With Feathers” features collaboration of local artists and LBCC Poetry Club

An exhibit of poetry by LBCC’s Poetry Club and works of art by local artists entitled “The Thing With Feathers” will be on display through April 28 at Linn-Benton Community College’s South Santiam Hall Gallery, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

A reception will be held Wednesday, April 6 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the SSH Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

Local artists featured include Carol Chapel, Carrie Tasman, Jennifer Lommers, Alexandra Schaeffers, Rachel Urista, Bill Shumway, Dan Wise, Kerry Bliss, Brittney West and Chris Adams.

LBCC poets featured are Christopher Mikkelson, Christy Stevens, BreAnna Rae, Alyssa Campbell, Emily Joliff, Ron Bilyeau, Shane Stanhope, Henry Moursund, Tav Knight, Emma Zerr, James Morrison, Ceph Poklemba, Paige Kosa and Michael Fortune.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. The course is required for CCB licensing as part of the education requirement before taking the State of Oregon CCB exam. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. Community Art classes in Albany, Corvallis, and Lebanon

A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
