Choir Post 3- London!

7:30 am  We have landed…we are here!  And the line to clear customs is LONG!  However, it is moving fast.  By 9:30 am we had all cleared immigration/passport control, collected our baggage and met our guide Birgit at the hotel.  We loaded onto the bus with another small group of singers and off we go.

10:00 am  We met our tour guide for the day as we travel around the city.  We saw Big Ben and Parliament, Westminster Abbey, many of the Museums, Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (also the Diamond Jubilee has just started!), lunch at Covent Garden…and we have yet to really sleep!

3:00 pm  We checked into the hotel…the IBIS Docklands Hotel on London’s east side.  Nice hotel.  Everyone is getting some rest and the off for some free-time this evening (if they don’t all pass out…which many might).  A lot of choices for dinner.  A group wanted some help navigating the tube and kidnapped James for a trip for some great Chinese food in China Town.  Others went out for some great British “pub food”.

10:30 pm…Bed checks…and almost half are asleep!  Ready for tomorrow’s first mass choir rehearsal!

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Foreign Language classes in Albany start April 4

Learn a foreign language in classes offered through Community Education at Linn-Benton Community College starting April 4. Spanish for Seniors focuses on conversational Spanish with essential words, songs and phrases to help you get ready to travel more confidently in Spanish speaking countries. Learn past, present, and future verb tenses. Some previous Spanish experience recommended. This eight-week class meets Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:50 p.m. starting April 4 at the Albany Senior Center, 44 Water Ave. Cost is $65. American Sign Language I provides basic sign language skills and information on deaf culture.
