James Reddan Receives Special Citation for American Prize
James Reddan, Linn-Benton Community College music instructor and choral conductor, was one of only seven conductors nationwide to have been awarded a special citation from The American Prize for Excellence in Music Education.
Reddan was recognized for his work with the LBCC Re-Choired Element choir, which was named first runner-up for The American Prize in June. The recognition places Reddan among the finest teachers of music in the country.
"This is truly an honor," said Reddan. "Conducting the choirs at LBCC is such a rewarding experience. To have the opportunity to work with some of the most dedicated and passionate students in the state, and the most supportive friends, colleagues, and administration is truly a blessing. Thank you all so much to everyone both at LBCC and in our Community for all you do to support the arts here at LBCC."
The American Prize recognizes the best orchestral, choral, opera and musical theater conductors in America, based on submitted applications. For more information or to see a list of winners, visit www.theamericanprize.blogspot.com.
