Free Athletics Play Day for K-5th Students

A free Athletics Play Day for area youth will be held Friday, April 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Linn-Benton Community College’s Activities Center gym, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

LBCC Athletics department and student-athletes will host K-5th grade students and their adult companions for an afternoon of games including baseball, basketball, volleyball, foot races, jumping, disc golf, a geo-caching scavenger hunt, foursquare, ping-pong and more. Equipment will be provided.

Representatives from the Portland Trailblazers, along with team mascot, “Blaze,” will be on hand during this free non-school day event.

This play day is free and open to children in grades K-5th grade. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. For more information, contact LBCC Athletics at 541-917-4266.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. The course is required for CCB licensing as part of the education requirement before taking the State of Oregon CCB exam. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. For sample interview questions and tips, check out the college web site at www.linnbenton.edu/go/career-fair and click “Job Seeker Links.” Employment, training and family needs agencies will be on hand to inform job seekers about their services. Community Art classes in Albany, Corvallis, and Lebanon

A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
